Locks and Latches

When purchasing mortice locks you need to consider where it is to be fitted, what size lock you require, what finish and insurance specifications.
Internal Doors - Most internal doors only require a 3 lever lock, such as Union 2177, Union 2277 and Union 2077.
External Doors - Most insurance companies will insist on a mortice lock to BS3621 standard on external doors.
Most locks are now to BS3621 2004 standard, which means they have a 20mm throw on the bolt, bringing them up to the European standard. Locks such as Chubb 3G114E, Chubb 3K74E, Union 2134E and Union 2234E.
Commercial Doors - Some insurance companies insist on very high end locks, such as; Chubb 3G110, Chubb 3G220, Chubb 3K70 on commercial properties.

Nightlatches
Nightlatches are locks which fit externally (and on the inside) of your door and lock automaticaly when closing the door. They come in various different styles and levels of security. Door Fittings Uk sell nightlatches at all levels of security to meet your needs.
From BS3621 versions like the automatic deadbolt Chubb 4L67E and Yale PBS1 Nightlatch, through the Yale No.1 Double Security Nightatch (with "Anti-Slip" Latch), the standard Yale 85 Deadlocking Nightlatch (arguably one of the most common nightlatches in the UK) all the way through to the traditional style Yale 77.
 
Rim Cylinders

Fitted on all Upvc doors, Euro Cylinders are becoming more popular on new wooden doors now, as manufacturers are replacing traditional locks with multipoint locking mechanisms.
